Our team consists of vehicle engineers with backgrounds in the automotive industry. Our broad experience includes suspension testing, suspension/chassis tuning and development, steering system development, vehicle dynamics simulation, and top-level racing. Race vehicle testing is our specialty, but we can test almost any 4-wheeled vehicle with a suspension. We encourage in-depth investigations and our staff is always available to design special tests and provide engineering support.
Bob Simons, President (MSME, Purdue University; BSME, Lehigh University): Bob is from Lancaster, PA. He was a professor at Davenport University for six years, and simultaneously an engineering consultant. He was also a development engineer at Delphi Automotive Systems for three years. Bob has experience with steering system design, control system integration, lab testing, and data acquisition. He has worked as a consultant with a number of automotive OEMs, software companies, and racing teams. In his spare time Bob races a Spec Miata with SVRA and SCCA. Bob has also been to Mardi Gras.
Jeremy Sharpley, K&C Test Engineer: Jeremy is originally from Hamburg, PA but after graduating high school calls Indianapolis, IN home. Previously, Jeremy spent 12 years in the professional motorsports industry as a shock technician / mechanic. He spent time in INDYCAR, NASCAR, and ChampCar professionally before transitioning to Morse Measurements. He now enjoys spending time on the evenings and weekends with his wife and two young daughters. When not at work or with his family you will probably find him pedaling a bicycle either on the back-country roads or on the local mountain bike trails.
Nathan Landon, K&C Test Engineer (BSME, University of North Carolina at Charlotte): Nathan is from Polkton, NC. He graduated from UNC Charlotte in December of 2017. Nathan has experience in database management, engineering software development, finite element analysis, and engineering testing and analysis. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and making furniture. Nathan is a nerd, and geeks out about the Lord of the Rings and reading theology.
Trey Thompson, Engineering Intern: Trey is from King George, Virginia. Trey graduates from UNC Charlotte in December 2018 with a BMSE and a concentration in motorsports. At UNCC, Trey worked on the data acquisition team for the school’s Formula SAE Team. Trey has raced karts for 12 years, winning 5 championships at the local and state levels while also competing on a national level. Now Trey enjoys getting outdoors and working on friends’ racecars. Trey plans on getting back to racing in the future.
Jill Simons, Office Manager (AS, Davenport University): Jill is from Sebewaing, MI, which is in the “Thumb” of Michigan. Jill has wide ranging experience, from manufacturing to living on a farm to being an office manager for a manufacturer of custom motorcycles. She is also the mother of two teenagers, which basically means she doesn’t take crap from anybody! Jill keeps the office running efficiently and acts as your “lunch lady” on test days. In her spare time, Jill enjoys baking cakes. She is also fascinated with cows.
Jack: Jack was a mix of black lab and Border collie, and too smart for his own good. He has passed over the rainbow bridge, as they say. But we have it on good account that Jack is doing well in heaven and still hangs out with us regularly, especially when we go on trips. Jack was always up for a trip!
Lucky: Lucky is a stray that Jack was nice enough to adopt. We are not sure what breed Lucky is – you can see almost every dog breed in him, so he has a great mix. Now that Jack is gone, Lucky hangs out with Daisy. He loves going on walks every day with Bob.
Daisy, Head of Security: Daisy is a Great Pyrenees mix and she looks like a St Bernard. Daisy is Jill’s dog and is Jack and Lucky’s “little” sister. Lucky especially loves playing with Daisy in the yard every day.
Here are some more fun pictures of the dogs!
